NIT-T provides Scholarships for general students, whose parental income is less than 1 lakhs per annum, and whose income is between Rs 1 Lakhs to 5 Lakhs per annum. This is for General students, purely based on merit. It is applicable only for Under Graduate courses (B.Tech and B. Arch), and not applicable for Post Graduate courses. Apart from this, there is a student aid fund that is provided separately to deserving students and other scholarships as well.

Procedure to Apply

Student Aid Fund - Academic Year 2020/2021:

Applications are invited from the students of NIT Tiruchirappalli to avail Student Aid.

Fund (AY 2020-21) financial assistance, under the following conditions:

  • The applicant should be an Indian citizen and a regular student at this institute. •
  • The applicant should not receive any stipend/scholarship.
  • The applicant's parents' annual income should be maximum up to Rs 6,00,000.
  • The applicant's academic merit.

The eligible students are requested to apply through the following link: https://scholarship.nitt.edu

Students must fill in all their basic details in the above portal to apply for the student aid fund and the filled application form generated from the above online portal along with relevant documents (in pdf) should also be submitted to the e-mail ID: saf2020@nitt.edu.

Key Note:

  • Family annual income certificate for the financial year 2020-2021, obtained after 1" April 2021 should be submitted.
  • Financial assistance will be awarded mainly considering the parents' annual income and academic merit.
  • The portal has been developed to streamline the process of the scholarship application. The applicant can check their application status by logging in to the scholarship portal.

Canara Bank

Special Scheme for NITT students (low interest, no collateral security, and no pre-payment penalty) - Vidya Turant Education Loan Scheme.

  • (4+1) + 15 years (to repay in EMI).                                                                                                                                     
  • Loan up to 20 Lakhs.
  • Rate of Interest- SI- 6.9%.                                                                                                                                               
  • Subsidized interest from Government for low-income families.                                                                                         
  • Loan different from scholarships for other educational purposes

Documents Required:

10th,12th mark sheet along with Aadhaar and Pan Card of the student and parent. [Documentation can be done in nearest branches].

SBI Bank

Special scheme - Scholar Loan.

  • Repayment: after completion of degree+ 6 months.
  • Low-interest rates and Simple Interest.
  • Process: PAN card and SBI account required for both student and parent before applying in the Vidyalakshmi portal. Documents can be verified in the nearby SBI branch.
  • Subsidized interest rates for family income less than 4.5 lakhs.
  • Not applicable for the DASA quota.
  • Special COVID loans only for Salary package people, not students.
